Plus, it doesn't take as long to download these files as it does to download the DVD file. So enjoy!

Ryan Sharich here. I hope I wrote this well enough in English (not nerd) so everyone will understand it. But I wanted to let everyone know that I am giving away the BHS Class of '98 DVD for free. No, not actual plastic DVD disc... No, I mean that I am allowing anyone who wishes, to download the entire DVD (from a file), and to make your own copy. I am still selling the remaining discs' that I have made for those who want one. But for those who can, I am allowing you to download and make your own copy of this DVD (minus the label).

Brighton High School Class of '98 DVD

What you will need:
- DSL or higher speed internet connection;
- Blank DVD-R's;
- A computer running Windows or Mac OS X;
- A DVD+-RW burner;
- DVD burning software... If you do not have one, try one of these free programs:
CDBurnerXP (Windows XP, Vista, 7) or ImageBurner for Mac (Mac OS X 10.4+)

Steps:
1) Begin to download and save the single BHS.iso file* to your computer;
2) If needed, download and install a DVD software to "burn" the DVD;
3) Place a blank DVD-R into your computers' DVD burner;

...Since each program interface is different on how it will burn an .iso file to a disc, please view the Help section of the program that you are using if you are having problems or do not know where to begin. Since most users are using Windows, I will continue and tell you how to burn an .iso file using CDBurnerXP .

4) Open CDBurnerXP;
5) Choose "Burn ISO Image" and then click Okay;
6) Under "Select ISO image to burn:", locate the .iso file you just downloaded;
7) Click the "Burn disc" button;

Once it is finished, take the disc out of your computer and enjoy reliving the memories.

* The file you need to download is very large (1.69 GB). That means that even with a fast internet connection, it could take a two to five hours to download. It all depends on how fast your internet is.

We would like to remind everyone in our Class, that we are selling the Class of '98 Memory Tape (now on DVD) for only $10.00. This includes the DVD and shipping. We have 37 34 remaining and once they are gone, we do not plan on making any more for a long while.

So, if you never purchased the VHS tape back in high school (1998) or did not get the chance to buy one before or at the reunion (2008), now is your chance.

10 years later.......

So we never fully understood the ramifications in running for senior class officers.....but there was a brief moment that someone mentioned we would have to plan reunions. So here we are 10 years later (Pretty amazing that we are all here.....except for Tiff Sanford who is off getting her PHD in Oklahoma )! We had a meeting tonight to discuss the details of this super fabulous reunion. Mostly we just laughed and caught up on the last ten years. It was fun.

we can't wait to see everybody.

A few things we discussed:

We are going to give you until Saturday to buy your tickets through paypal. Hopefully you will come!!! We have to have a head count by that day.....so this is your last chance.

To clarify on the dress for the evening, you can wear whatever you want.....something casual...yet nice............ But if you feel tempted to break out your old prom dress, by all means don't let us hold you back.

The Reunion will start at 7:00 on August 9th. at the Red Lion in Salt Lake.....You will need to be on our official guest list to attend. SO BUY YOUR TICKETS!

We are really excited about the silent auction that we are doing for Project Reach Out!!

OUR BHS HUMANITARIAN PROJECT

Hey everyone, it’s Cami Duncan, now Shipp. I am so excited about this project we are doing, because I have seen first hand the benefit it has brought to so many Ukrainian children. Over ten years ago, my husband Nate and Benjamin Becker lived two years in Ukraine serving as Christian Missionaries. While in Ukraine, their specific responsibilities included improving government relations and meeting the material needs of the poor.

They spent hours in orphanages across Ukraine trying to ease the suffering of the most vulnerable victims of poverty, the children. The need was just too great to help all of the children and they promised themselves and the children that one day they would return and do more. The first trip back was a huge success, they had raised some money and decided to show up at an orphanage in Lutsk Ukraine. When they asked the director how they could help, he broke down in tears. The children hadn’t eaten that day, and he didn’t know how he was going to get them their next meal. At the time, the children’s basic needs to sustain life were not being met, since then Project Reach Out (PRO) has met the needs of thousands of children.

They started providing meals rich in nutrition, daily vitamins, clothes, medical supplies and treatments. Now that those needs are being met through funding, PRO is focusing on the re-building and reconstruction in seven orphanages, and assisting in adoptions.

At the TOP of PRO’s list is renovating a bathroom in an orphanage in Kiversti, Ukraine and it needs to be taken care of SOON! The bathroom is horrendous. It is dirty, unsanitary and worn down. There are open plumbing issues, broken faucets and contaminated water. It breaks my heart to think that over 80 children use this facility on a daily basis. I couldn’t imagine putting my own little children in these conditions. To remodel one of these bathrooms will cost over $10,000, which I know we as BHS alumni can contribute to!

PRO is respected and acknowledge by the Ukranian government because of their years of service and dedication over the years. They have agreed to step up to the plate and match our donation.

OUR GOAL is to raise $5000.00

OUR PROJECT- to remodel the entire bathroom including putting in new plumbing, adding a wash area with sinks, installing showers, and building lockers for the drying area.

Project Reach Out is different from other non-profit organizations, because it exists without any overhead. Nobody that volunteers for PRO is compensated in any way, including the founders. My husband will be going over in the fall and will take the money with him. He will be hiring local contractors in Ukraine, which will boost the local economy. There is a general contractor who will be overseeing the project and be reporting to Nate on a weekly basis. We will have pictures for you in a couple of months of the final project!

To raise the money, we will be doing a SILENT AUCTION

HERE’S WHERE YOU COME IN!

We want everyone to participate. We thought it would reunite us all by bringing items that portray what you do with your time. We will auction off your items to each other the night of the reunion. For example;

-Florist: a floral arrangement

-Hair Stylist: hair cut or gift basket with hair product

-Love to bake: donate a cake or a cookies

-Photographer: free photo package or sitting fee

-Artist: Art, pottery, jewelry

-Ski Patrol: ski lessons

You get the idea?

Any type of donation will work...be creative!

Think of any connections you have, and try and get something donated for our silent auction.

Also, cash donations will be accepted!

I have been to Ukraine several times. Each time I am so amazed at how much we have been given. Looking at little Anna or Sasha and the conditions they are living in breaks my heart, but doing projects like this makes me feel like I am improving their lives in someway. Start thinking, you’ve got less than two months to come up with something good!

A big huge thanks to Ryan Sharich who was able to preserve our high school memories to a DVD!!! The full length video will be available to purchase when you buy tickets to the reunion. The cost of the DVD will be 10.00, and you will be able to pick it up the night of the reunion (We will also show the full length video that night). It is pretty funny, you'll love it. Definitely a DVD you'll want for your collection. Besides your kids will get a good laugh out of it.

BHS 1998 Reunion...

For the last few years I have watched my friends, family, and relatives go through with their 10 year reunion. I have been somewhat curious because I knew this arduous task lay before me (by the way this is Ali writing this). So I took a little opinion poll to find out what people really were thinking about their 10 year reunion. Here are the results of my (not so official) study; 40% of the people didn't know about it, 38.5% of people knew about it, but didn't care to go. 10% would have gone if they could have lost 15 extra pounds, 6% actually went and had a great time. 5% said they went to the reunion and had fun, but it was too expensive ($100.00 a couple), and .5% said they would rather have a root canal. So the results weren't too optimistic, and lets be honest most people are not thrilled about reunions. So I tried to come up with some ideas that would get more people excited and involved.....

Anyways one night I had this idea, and I was so excited that I couldn't sleep. I starting thinking 800 people is SO MANY PEOPLE, and then you have all their spouses, kids, girlfriends, boyfriends, friends, families etc. We are talking about a huge network of people!!! With those kind of numbers we could do something really AWESOME!!

So here is my CRAZY idea.......

Why not pull off our very own humanitarian aid project? We certainly have enough people and enough resources to make this happen. I know some of you are doctors, nurses, dentists, and a few of you may have connections with medical supplies, transportation, or anything else we might need?

This is going to be a huge undertaking, so we are going to need help from everyone!!!!

(I need to hear from Chris Hyer, or Scott Larsen to see if this would be possible, but I am sure it can be done?) I think you guys have attempted something like this before?

NOW THIS WOULD TAKE SOME TIME TO PLAN....BUT I THINK OUR REUNION WOULD BE A GREAT TIME TO RAISE MONEY, AND ROUND UP WHATEVER SUPPLIES WOULD BE NEEDED! AND WHAT A FUN WAY TO GET TOGETHER!

Also we can still have a formal dinner......Does anyone have any ideas where?

One thing I would like to do is have a silent auction. This way everyone can donate WHATEVER they want, services they can offer, works of art they can create, old bikes, snowbaords, cars, gift certificates, gift baskets, or whatever..... and I KNOW we can raise some cash. My daughters elementary school just had a silent auction and they raised 20,000 dollars in one night!

First I need to track down all of the other crazy people that ran for senior class offices... And see if they would be willing to make this happen? Also All the SBO's you promised you would help too.

So the other day I dusted off this box that has been in storage for 10 years and pulled out some treasures, including some VHS tapes of our "Senior Class Memories".....If anyone still owns a VCR I'll hook you up with a copy for FREE! I also found some pictures that I had used in a bulletin board back in '98. I didn't realize I still had these pictures. But these photos might help in my search for all of you class officers.
